ORD - Weather Jan 5


High pressure will settle over the Ohio Valley today, with southwesterly winds bringing warmer temperatures to Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Low pressure dropping into the Upper Midwest will send a cold front through the region this evening. This front may be accompanied by a period of light snow. Another cold air mass will move in after the frontal passage. Thursday will be about 10 degrees colder, along with a chance for another period of light snow for southern and western portions of the forecast area.


Today: A 30 percent chance of snow after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. South southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of snow before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 21. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. West northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 20. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12.
