The new year will start out with partly sunny skies, but with below normal temperatures as cold air pushes into the Midwest. Clouds will gradually fill in this afternoon and overnight. Highs will only reach into the low to mid 20s north of Interstate 80, and to the upper 20s south of there. Similar conditions will prevail on tomorrow with skies clearing by the afternoon, and temperatures in the low to mid 20s.
